Last night, my partner and I decided to try La Moule restaurant that everyone has been raving about, and we were not disappointed! The food was absolutely incredible, and we couldn't stop raving about it.
To start, we ordered a dozen oysters, which were served fresh and delicious. They were perfectly shucked and tasted like they had just been plucked from the ocean.
For our main courses, my partner ordered the bone marrow, which was the best we've ever tasted. It was so rich and flavorful that we wished we had ordered more. I, on the other hand, decided to try the burger, and it was the best decision I made that night. The meat was cooked perfectly and topped with delicious, melted cheese.
The service was also excellent, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. They helped us choose a bottle of wine that perfectly complemented our meal.
Overall, we had an amazing experience and we can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious dishes. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, we highly recommend this restaurant.
Mostly an after hours bistro menu. Dim lighting and very good service. Oysters varied in size, but tasted great. 9.2 stars for the oysters. nice dry house white wine. Plate of shoestring fries was good portion for two people. Overall I want to come back and try everything. The little I had makes me desire to try more. Going back soon.
The waitress was super friendly and kind. The food was very disappointing though. The garlic bread that I ordered with the mussels was the best part of the whole dinner. The mussels were good, but it's hard to go wrong with a garlicy, buttery sauce and bread. The rest of the food was a letdown. The gnocchi were way too sweet and just did not taste great. I did like that they were homemade, but the flavors were just off. The whole braised branzino tasted good, but came with a mayo-based sauce and I would expect something better for $44. We did get a free glass of champagne on the house for our anniversary, which was very kind!! Overall not worth it though for the high price tag and not great food.
The oysters, scallops and mussels are delicious. The cocktails are delicious. I’m already thinking about what I’m going to eat the next time I come back to La Moule. Worth every penny!!!
This IS the cutest spot in Portland, the lighting is just right. Defs has bigger city vibes. Service was impeccable - attentive, professional but also casual and approachable. Food was amazing and cocktails and wine were as well. The gnocchi was exceptional!
Les Français Seraient Gênés
Don’t bother dining at this SE spot unless all you want is exceptional service, as only a few items we ordered were tasty and well-executed.
Oysters: Overpriced and underwhelming given the Willapa oysters available all around the Portland area.
Scallop Cru: Best thing I ate, but not worth the $21 for ONE thinly sliced scallop
Radishes: Delicious, but anybody who isn’t a fan of salt would be disappointed.
Gnocchi: The seemingly handmade gnocchis were well-formed and had potential, but were drowned by über salty sauce that was way too thick for the delicate pillows of potato.
Steak: My sister and her hub ordered it. They said too salty and the cut of meat was not edible due to too much connective tissue.
Great happy hour! My favorite dishes here besides the classic mussels is the chicken liver mousse
Came here for the happy hour and stayed for tapas, cocktails, and dessert. The happy hour menu alone is worth it (fresh crispy baguettes, tasty oysters, bold pâté... yum). The food tastes so fresh! The cocktails are exceptionally well made. And really pleasant service. Highly recommend.
